First time buyer has made significant savings since moving to a new-build home from a previous rented apartment.
First time buyer Abzee (31) is set to save more than £800 per year on his energy bills following his move into a new build home at Linden Homes’ Hatters Chase development in Runcorn.
Abzee began searching for a more energy efficient property after living in a rented two bedroom apartment in Salford where he was having to turn the heating on multiple times per day, costing him £205 each month. In his new three bedroom home, he now only needs to turn the heating on every couple of days – even in winter – with an average monthly cost of £133.
Energy efficiency is creeping up the agenda for many home buyers because of rising energy rates, with 36% of home buyers looking for a home with lower energy bills.
Abzee (doctor) explained: “In my previous home, I would have to turn the heating on every morning and again in the evening and it would still never feel warm! In my search for my first home, energy efficiency became a huge priority to avoid spending money on heating my home only for it to be cold again an hour or two later.
Abzee’s home search led him to the Hatters Chase development in Runcorn, sold by Linden Homes, part of the Vistry Group where he purchased The Eveleigh, a three bedroom semi-detached home.
