Housebuilder Barratt David Wilson Homes has now secured planning permission for 60 new homes at Leestone Park in Leighton-Buzzard, which will form part of the wider regeneration at Chamberlains Barn Quarry.
Central Bedfordshire Council has now approved updated proposals for Phase 2 of the development, which will see the new homes delivered using David Wilson Homes house designs. This will replace previously approved plans, while keeping the total number of homes the same. In addition, the development will include affordable homes for local residents through shared ownership tenure.
The latest phase will include a range of two, three, four and five-bedroom homes, building upon Barratt David Wilson’s successful delivery at the nearby Clipstone Park. All the new homes will be built with energy efficiency in mind using a ‘fabric-first’ approach, meaning the homes are designed to reduce heat loss and improve energy performance from the outset. Features such as air source heat pumps and solar panels will help to keep homes warm in winter and cool in summer, supporting residents to reduce energy bills while lowering their carbon footprint.
Green space will play a central role within Leestone Park, designed to create an attractive and welcoming environment for residents. The scheme will deliver new tree and hedgerow planting, together with wildlife‑friendly landscaping throughout the site. These green areas will support local biodiversity alongside providing spaces for residents to enjoy the outdoors.
