Aleesha Choda-Bhopal (29), a Paid Social Account Director, and her husband, Kiran Lal Bhopal (30), a Finance Business Partner, were living with Kiran’s parents in Solihull when they found out they were expecting their first child. Wanting to have their own space to create their family home with their dog, the couple discovered their perfect first home at Valiant Fields.
Aleesha said: “We started looking at Valiant Fields back in 2024 and, when we heard that Phase 2 was being built, we knew we wanted to buy a home there. The location is perfect as it’s halfway between our parents’ homes and is conveniently placed for commuting, as I work in central London and Kiran works in Birmingham.
“We chose to purchase a new-build home over a pre-owned one because there’s less immediate maintenance or repair work needed, as everything is brand-new. This means lower running and maintenance costs in the short term, which was especially appealing to us as first-time buyers. New-build homes are also more energy efficient, which helps reduce energy bills and is better for the environment.
“New-build homes usually come with warranties too, which gives peace of mind and makes the whole process feel more secure. We were also interested in the incentives often available for new-build homes, which made the purchasing process more affordable and appealing.”
Aleesha and Kiran also had family members who had purchased from Taylor Wimpey, so they already had an idea of what to expect. Aleesha said: “Taylor Wimpey has a reputation for building quality homes and well-designed developments. We also loved the layout and overall finish of Taylor Wimpey’s properties, especially the house type and style we chose.
“We were looking for a three-bedroom home and the Keeford house type was exactly what we were after. It’s spacious enough for both of us, as well as our growing family.”
The Keeford house type features an open plan kitchen/diner with double doors leading to the rear garden, perfect for a summer barbecue. Upstairs are two double bedrooms, one with an en suite, as well as a third single bedroom.
Aleesha added: “We have a busy social life, and this house type is perfect for entertaining, socialising and raising a family.
“We also love the storage solutions and large cupboards downstairs, as they’re perfect for creating a pantry and storing cleaning products and household essentials. The downstairs toilet also includes a utility area, which helps save space in the kitchen.”
As first-time buyers, Aleesha and Kiran received a 5% deposit contribution on their Taylor Wimpey purchase. Aleesha added: “We were able to split this between putting it towards our deposit and upgrading parts of the house.
“We found the whole process of buying with Taylor Wimpey to be very smooth, well organised and supportive overall. A massive shoutout to the sales team, who were incredibly helpful, kept us informed at every stage and helped keep everything moving, which made what can be a stressful process feel much more manageable.
“As first-time buyers, purchasing a home can be very stressful because there are lots of things you don’t know. However, everything was clearly explained to us and we felt supported from the point of reservation through to completion.”
The couple moved into their family home in March 2026. Aleesha said: “We are loving life in our new home; it’s so peaceful and we’re slowly getting everything ready for our baby’s arrival.
“We love the area, the local people, and the walks and lakes around the estate, which are perfect for walking the dog. Valiant Fields has such a lovely, family-friendly vibe.
