Brighton and Hove housing development hosts educational open day for prospective buyers

With the aim of helping more home buyers take the next step on the property ladder, Guinness Homes’ Brighton and Hove housing development, Lyon Quarter, is holding a free advice drop-in session on Tuesday 15th September.

The event will run from 3pm-7pm and will welcome attendees to learn more about shared ownership as a route to homeownership.

Hosted in partnership with specialist shared ownership mortgage broker, Censeo Financial, and specialist conveyancers, New Homes Law, the event will provide specific advice on shared ownership mortgages, the buying process and any legal questions, as well as available properties with Guinness Homes.

Located on Lyon Close, Brighton and Hove, the shared ownership development offers a blend of modern one  and two bedroom apartments, available with deposits as low as five per cent. Each apartment features a contemporary open plan layout, integrated appliances and fittings, and its own private balcony.

There are seven wheelchair-adapted apartments available at Lyon Quarter, featuring ovens, sockets, switches and window winders at wheelchair height, adjustable worktops and accessible wet rooms. Each apartment also comes with a disabled parking space in the development’s car park.

Prices start at £81,250 with a £4,062.50 deposit for a 25% share of a one bedroom apartment, and £104,375 with a £5,218.75 for a 25% share of a two bedroom apartment.

Hannah Smart, Sales Manager, Guinness Homes’ Lyon Quarter, said: “With over 85% of properties now sold, this really is the last chance for anyone interested to find out more about shared ownership with us at Lyon Quarter.

“These events provide a unique opportunity to have any of your questions answered: be it about the apartments, shared ownership, or even as simple as how you go about obtaining a shared ownership mortgage. We want to make sure anyone interested feels supported from start to finish.

“Previous events have gone on to support multiple people and families in finding the home that’s right for them. Whether you’re a first-time buyer, looking to downsize, or simply just looking for the right property, with any luck, that next person could be you! We hope to see you here on the 15th.”

Anthony Hall, Director at Censeo Financial, said:
“Buying a home through shared ownership doesn’t need to be as confusing as people sometimes think. It’s designed to make home ownership more affordable and attainable for people who may not be able to buy the home they want through traditional outright sale.

“At Censeo Financial, shared ownership is what we do every day. We work with buyers from the very start of their journey, helping them understand affordability, mortgages and what their options really look like, so they can make informed decisions with confidence.

“If you’re considering shared ownership, book your place for the 15th of September and come and speak to us directly. Whether you’re unsure how much you can afford, how the mortgage works, what deposit you’ll need or where to start, ask us. There really isn’t a shared ownership question we haven’t heard before!”

Nicole Chapman, Business Development Manager, at New Homes Law, said: “At New Homes Law, it’s our job to make the process of conveyancing as smooth as possible. We’ve helped thousands of people complete on their home purchase, and hopefully, we’ll be able to help you too.

“Come and speak to us on the 15th of September with Guinness Homes – we promise it’s not as confusing as you might think.”

New Homes Law will be joined by Nicole Chapman, Business Development Manager and Issac Lawrence, Conveyancing Executive.
