THE NEW COMMUTE, LONDONERS IN THE SADDLE

Today London is on par with some of the most cycle friendly cities in Europe as more and more Londoners ditch the car or avoid the train and instead choose to take their seat on the saddle to cycle to work, school or play.

The latest data shows that Londoners are embracing more environmentally and financially sustainable ways of getting around the capital.  The levels of cycling in 2022 were 40% higher than in 2019, typically 25% higher during weekdays and around 90% higher at the weekends.  

In May, tens of thousands of riders took to the streets for RideLondon – the world’s greatest festival of cycling, getting people comfortable on the roads and showing the public the joys of getting around on two, or even three, wheels.
