SNG set to launch new affordable apartments in Stratford

A brand new collection of one to three bedroom Shared Ownership apartments is set to launch in Pudding Mill Lane this summer. Available through affordable housing provider SNG (Sovereign Network Group) and prioritising those who live and work in the London Borough of Newham, these homes offer an ideal opportunity for city renters looking to make their first step onto the property ladder in a well-connected area of East London.

SNG at Pudding Mill Lane will be situated at the heart of a vibrant new mixed-use neighbourhood, in close proximity to the ABBA Voyage stadium, the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Victoria Park and Stratford’s Westfield. A region known for its exciting dining, leisure and retail experiences, residents will enjoy close proximity to some of the biggest sports clubs and one of the largest shopping centres in London. With Pudding Mill Lane DLR station on the doorstep, city commuters have easy access to the rest of the capital, with journey times of 12 minutes to Canary Wharf and 14 minutes to Stratford International.

Kalumba Musambachime, Head of Sales at SNG, comments: “We are so pleased to be able to launch these new affordable homes in a highly sought after area of East London this summer. The apartments at Pudding Mill Lane are in a perfect location to enjoy all the amenities the area has to offer and have quick connections by public transport into central London. Home to some of the best of London’s green spaces, riverways and retail offerings, Stratford has its own vibrant lifestyle tucked away from the city centre. These Shared Ownership apartments therefore offer an excellent path onto the property ladder for those who want both access to the city and a quieter pace.”

Shared Ownership is a UK government initiative allowing prospective purchasers the opportunity to buy a share of a property with a much smaller deposit. These start from as little as 5% and homeowners buy a share of a property starting at 25%. They pay a mortgage on the share they’ve bought, and pay a subsidised rent to SNG for the remaining share. Buyers then have the option to purchase more shares if they so choose, until they reach full 100% ownership – also known as ‘staircasing’. For the apartments at Pudding Mill Lane, priority is given to those who live and work in the London Borough of Newham, delivering much-needed affordable homes for the local community.

Stratford will particularly appeal to those with an appetite for fitness and the outdoors. Pudding Mill Lane is a comfortable walking distance from Victoria Park and the famous Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, known for the 2012 London Olympics, with the Hockey and Tennis Centre, Velodrome, and Aquatics Centre all available for public use. The new neighbourhood is also situated in close proximity to Stratford Padel Club and Range Reformer Pilates. Not only are these homes near to some of London’s most popular green spaces and sports facilities, they also overlook the Pudding Mill Lane waterway, part of a wider network of rivers with attractive walks through the surrounding Stratford area.

Just 20 minutes’ walk away, Westfield Stratford has the full range of retail offerings, from classic departments stores such as John Lewis and M&S to premium designers like Prada and Jimmy Choo. Pudding Mill Lane also has a number of thriving street markets within walking distance of the development, including the historic Roman Road market. The V&A East Storehouse, displaying a huge portion of the Victoria and Albert Museum’s collection, is also situated in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

In between zones two and three, Pudding Mill Lane is a convenient spot for school and work life, with a number of well-regarded primary and secondary options in the area and fast connections into the city. Bobby Moore Academy, both a primary and secondary school, is rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted, and Harris Science Academy East London – less than a 20-minute walk away – is rated ‘Outstanding’.

Commuters have easy access to the City with under 20-minute connections on the Elizabeth and Central Lines from Stratford Station. Canary Wharf is a 12 minute journey from Pudding Mill Lane DLR station, itself only a four minute walk from the development. From Stratford International residents can also catch a train to St Pancras in under 10 minutes.
