THREE “early bird” reservations were made by eager buyers at a special preview event to showcase new homes in Buckley.
Castle Green Homes has begun work to construct 159 new homes on a 13.2-acre site on Well Street, Buckley.
The land is allocated for housing in the Flintshire County Council Local Development Plan and was successfully tendered through the Welsh Procurement Alliance framework
The housing mix at the development, known as Hawthorn Meadows, responds to market need and demand locally.
A special preview event for those who registered interest in the private sale homes was held recently.
Castle Green Homes sales director Sian Pitt said: “We’ve been receiving enquiries from potential purchasers keen to learn more about our new homes in Buckley since plans were first announced. We had a great response to our preview event. Three people made early bird reservations, giving them first refusal when their preferred property is released for sale in line with the build programme. Another three who have an existing house to sell have signed up for our Easy Move service, whereby we’ll help them secure a buyer so that they can then buy a new home from us.”
Early bird reservations can now be made on a selection of three and four-bedroom homes, ahead of the full sales launch in August.
Current prices are from £274,995 to £392,995.
Homes priced under £300,000 are eligible to be purchased using Help to Buy – Wales. Someone buying in this way should typically only need a 5% deposit and 75% mortgage, with the remaining 20% covered by an equity loan. Crucially, the equity loan is interest free for five years.
“We’d encourage anyone considering buying a new home at Hawthorn Meadows to set up a Willow account via our website,” Sian added. “With the help of a virtual new homes assistant, buyers can explore the options and upgrades available in our new homes in Buckley, testing out different kitchen finishes, worktop and flooring combinations to suit their taste and budget wherever and whenever they want to. Effectively Willow creates a digital twin of the customer’s home room by room while we do the hard work in making it a reality.”
Along with new homes, there will be areas of public open space at Hawthorn Meadows, including a play area with at least five pieces of equipment.
Section 106 contributions agreed during the planning process include £387,849 for secondary education and £85,799 for primary education, plus £18,200 for highways works.
Other economic benefits include the creation of direct and indirect jobs on and off-site during the build programme; construction workers and new residents helping sustain local businesses by shopping locally; and ongoing council tax contributions from the new residents.
