Southern Housing New Homes, one of the UK’s largest housing providers, is taking the conversation around Shared Ownership straight to the heart of East London with a live podcast event in Hackney Wick this March. Through honest conversation and expert insight, it’s aimed at helping Londoners cut through the noise around buying a home.
Following the success of its podcast series of the same name, the housing provider will host Shared Ownership Unpacked Live in Hackney Wick on the 5th of March 2026 at Number 90 bar. The event will feature a live recording of the podcast, an audience Q&A, and informal discussions over drinks and snacks.
The podcast itself is co-hosted by Joe Bartlett, widely known as The Homebuyer Coach and followed by more than 150,000 first-time buyers online, and Rob Horne, Marketing Executive at Southern Housing. Throughout the series, they tackle the realities of Shared Ownership head-on. Episodes offer honest, accessible insight for first-time buyers, covering everything from affordability and service charges to debating headline-grabbing claims that the scheme is a ‘scam’.
The Hackney event will give attendees the chance to speak directly with Southern Housing’s sales team about Shared Ownership in London, with a particular focus on Hackney and the surrounding area. The evening will also spotlight Wickside, Southern Housing’s upcoming Hackney Wick development, which will be launching soon.
