Content creators Sam and Bec who are looking for advice on how to get on the property ladder in Folkestone and Kent based self-employed charity worker Leon and his wife Dawn, a PA in the NHS will appear on a new series ‘Make Your Move’ from Channel 4 and Skipton Building Society.
Appearing on social-first series Make Your Move, they both are seeking help from Great House Giveaway presenter and mortgage expert Tayo Oguntonade. Sam and Bec are at the start of their housing journey and keen to move out of living with their parents, is their dream of owning in up-and-coming Folkestone realistic? Whilst Dawn and Leon who have lived in Kent for many years, are wondering when the time is right to downsize and what can they afford on the coast that will still allow them to travel once they retire and not be tied down by mortgage payments?
Debuting on the 24 May across all social platforms, with Channel 4 television and streaming amplification Make Your Move is a collaboration between Channel 4 and Skipton Building Society.
Across this social-first series, Tayo will be on hand to support three couples’ as they seek to buy their future home. In each episode, the viewer will join a couple on their housing journeys, get financial tips, and get an immersive experience in a property that is achievable for them. Also featuring in the series are Sarah and Andy, from Leicester. Sarah and Andy want to know if it is financially viable to upscale to a 5-to-6-bedroom property in rural Leicestershire. Tayo will look at their finances and share practical advice on how to make their dream a reality.
The contributors all openly share their financial concerns, interrogate their spending, and gain more in-depth financial advice personalised to them with the help of Skipton Building Society. In addition, Tayo will give them the keys to test drive a house for 24 hours to help the couples get an idea of what they want to help their house buying journey.
In the show Bec says: “Its very hard to be sexy when you’re living with your parents”, while Tayo opens the show by declaring: “Come on, you can’t live with your parents forever”.
